• From 2013 to 2021, there has been a significant increase in global corporate investment in AI, indicating the rapid application of AI technology in businesses and everyday life.
• Taiwanese enterprises and government units have actively invested in the AI sector in response to the development of smart technology and smart cities.
• The Taiwanese government established a Ministry of Digital Affairs to enhance the country's soft power in smart technology.

Demand for Cross-disciplinary AI Education:

• Higher education institutions are central to cultivating smart technology professionals, but there is currently a significant gap in Taiwan in cross-disciplinary talent specialized in AI applications.
• The demand for cross-disciplinary AI education stems from industrial development and local economic and societal needs.

Motivation and Objectives for Establishing the AI Department at Our School:

• With multiple colleges and a need for further education among successful alumni, our school established the Bachelor's program in AI Technology and Innovative Design.
• This new program aims to meet the diverse needs of the highly urbanized context of Taoyuan City and the substantial demand for AI technology professionals in our country's industry.
• The program will focus on cross-disciplinary learning to meet the needs of students and professionals in AI applications.

• CEOs of NVIDIA and AMD emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary applications of AI and established collaborations with Taiwanese manufacturers.
• The Taiwanese higher education system is reminded of the need to cultivate future talents capable of working across disciplines.

• The curriculum will combine professional fields with AI technology, encouraging student creativity and innovation.
• This program will promote cross-disciplinary thinking and collaboration by adopting the teaching design approach of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AI Institute.
