【Key Point News】The Jobs Most Likely to be Replaced by Artificial Intelligence in The Future

With the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, especially with the rise of AI generation tools such as ChatGPT, Bard, Gemini, leonardo.ai, and Midjourney, many traditional occupations face the risk of being replaced. According to an article in "Global Views Monthly" in February 2023 in Taiwan, written by Ru Haoping, and consultations with experts from the "Insider" organization, the following are some of the jobs most likely to be replaced by AI:

  1. Technical Jobs: Such as programmers, data analysts, and software engineers.
  2. Media Jobs: Involving advertising, content creation, writing, and journalism.
  3. Legal Work: Including lawyers and legal staff.
  4. Market Research Analysts.
  5. Teachers.
  6. Financial Jobs: Such as financial analysts and personal financial advisors.
  7. Traders and Bank Clerks.
  8. Designers.
  9. Accountants.
  10. Telemarketers.

Furthermore, Professors Carl Frey and Michael Osborne of the Oxford Martin School mention in their book "The Future of Employment" that about 47% of occupations will likely disappear in the next 20 years. These include telemarketers, tax agents, timing device assemblers and adjusters, loan officers, bank clerks, sports referees, delivery and purchasing personnel, product packaging and handling operators, milling and planning machine operators, credit analysts, drivers, fashion models, legal secretaries, bookkeepers, cashiers, restaurant chefs, gemstone cutters and polishers, postal workers, and electronic equipment assemblers.

These jobs face replacement mainly because they are involved in highly standardized and repetitive work. AI and automation technologies are more efficient and accurate in handling such tasks. In contrast, AI is less likely to replace jobs requiring creative thinking, judgment, or direct interpersonal communication to solve problems. This means that roles that require human creativity and emotional intelligence will become more important in the AI era.
